ABOUT US
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Simply stated it is: To turn lost people into sold-out followers of Christ.
We believe that the primary purpose of our existence is to:
-
Bring people into a relationship with Jesus
-
Nurture their total commitment to Jesus
We have come to that conclusion by…
-
Looking at the words of Jesus about himself; “For the Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)
-
Looking at His life which demonstrated this stated purpose.
-
By deciding to obey his final command to us, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19)
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
(Isaiah 40:8; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; II Timothy 3:16)
We believe that man, created by God, willfully sinned and as a result, is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
(Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)
We believe that salvation (the forgiveness of sins) comes by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 1:7)
We believe the Bible teaches that the pattern to receive Christ as Savior is, to believe in Christ as God’s son and Savior of the world, to repent of personal sin, to confess Christ as Lord, and to be immersed in baptism. Each of these is clearly taught in the Word of God.
(Romans 5:1-2; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19, 17:30; II Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10; I John 4:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21)
We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere.
(Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47)
We believe that God has ordained elders to exercise spiritual leadership and authority over the local congregation.
(Acts 20:28; I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; I Peter 5:1-4)
We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will formally pronounce the eternal fate of each individual, both living and dead. The saved will be assigned eternal life, the unsaved, eternal separation from God.
(John 6:39; Romans 8:10-11; 19:23; John 5:29; Daniel 12:2)
Staff & Elders
Here at FCC, we try hard to keep ourselves modeled on Biblical principles. We have three elders – Tim Barth, Bret Carpenter, and Cal Songer. Our elders oversee the vision, theology and doctrine of the church. The elders also directly oversee our Senior Pastor, Jake. We also have seven deacons that help in various areas of the church.
